How does structuralism explain??

I am having a hard time trying to understand how structuralism explains addition of new words to our language each year. If we take a structuralist approach, then we are a construct of the language and we cannot think outside of the language. Yet, every year we have new words added to Oxford dictionary and others. How does structuralism explain addition of words like computers, blogs, SMS etc?

Also, while reading a paper for one of my other classes, I came across a claim that lot of linguists make about how the emerging computer mediated communication technologies are a threat to our conventional language practices.  Some of them also refer to the language used in text messages and chat as “a new language”. How does structuralism explain the changes in a language or emergence of a new language?
